September Interfaith Home Building & Visual Arts Project

In support of Habitat for Humanity’s plan to bring teams of people from different faith communities together to assist in a September Interfaith home building and Visual Arts project, please consider sharing your time and skills in a faith-based response to poverty and substandard housing. In collaboration with People of Hope Church, we are looking for several volunteers who are willing to help with framing, foundation work, and build day meals. Other gifts in support of this event, like money and visual art, are also requested.

In memory of 9/11, interfaith home building will be done on three days in September specifically:

  • Tuesday September 8
  • Thursday, September 10
  • Saturday, September 12

There will be two overlapping 4-hour shifts per day:

  • 9am-1pm
  • 12pm-4pm

At the conclusion of the build event a potluck celebration involving volunteers and the Habitat Families will feature visual art contributions that illustrate how our faith traditions encourage service to those in need and/or that reflect the impact of interfaith collaboration.

If you want to help, or need more information, please add your name to the Interfaith Build Sign-up sheet at the activities desk in the GSC narthex by August 9, 2015, or contact Tim Fynskov.
