HOLY WEEK AT GSC

Palm/Passion Weekend: Hosanna in the Highest!
Saturday, April 13, 5:30pm Sunday, April 14, 9:30am
Holy Week begins as we participate in the story of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem through a sea of palms.  We will then experience the story which changed the world forever — the Passion of Jesus Christ.

All are invited on Palm Sunday to engage your five senses as we begin our journey into Holy Week. During Lent, each of our Sunday School class groups have been teaching each other about parts of Holy Week. After the service on Palm Sunday, we welcome you to linger at the tables in the Narthex and talk to the children about what they have learned. We are excited to share our experiences with you!

Maundy Thursday: Experience the Last Supper
Thursday, April 18, 7pm We gather to not only remember, but experience the night Jesus was betrayed as disciples called to eat and drink, to wash and be washed, to love and be loved.  We will celebrate with children and their families as they receive their first communion.

Good Friday: Jesus Dies Up On the Cross
Friday, April 19, 7pm We gather around the newly raised cross on the day of crucifixion. We listen to the last words of Christ in a service of word, prayer, music, and decreasing light.

Easter Vigil: vig·il  [ˈvijəl], a period of keeping awake, especially to keep watch or pray.
Saturday, April 20, 5:30pm  In this time of keeping awake, we will gather to visit, enjoy snacks, and tell a few stories about how we knew Jesus. Soon thereafter we will move, led by candles to our sanctuary to commune together as we celebrate the resurrection to life of Jesus!

Easter Sunday: He is Risen!  Alleluia!
Sunday, April 21, 8:15am & 10:30am Celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord at Easter Festival worship.  Between services, all are invited and encouraged to join in the activities of the Easter Breakfast starting at 9:15am and Easter Egg Hunt at 10am.
