Operation Inasmuch Projects

Project Title Description and Comments
Musicians to Nursing homes Provide musical entertainment to area nursing homes
Car Care  Oil/Air check & Coffee/Doughnuts Provide basic car care inspection, assistance and recommendations to local motorists. We will be checking oil levels and tire air pressure while sharing coffee, doughnuts and faith.
Bread for the world Organize Good Shepherd's Bread for the World campaign (as directed in OutLook 2009) by initiating a letter writing campaign.
Letters to troops Spread the word of Good Shepherd Church and support to our troops through writing letters.
Carry Groceries to car Carry and load groceries for our fellow community members.
Laundromat Blitz Plug the washers and dryers with quarters and soap at a Rochester area laundromat for your fellow community member.
Affirmation of Public Servants  Food/Cook Prepare and distribute food for the public servants of Rochester (firemen, policeman, medical community etc.) in a gesture of appreciation for their dedication to our community. Volunteers will congregate at Good Shepherd, make the food and distribute it.
Sewing project Make and distribute a sewing project to local nursing homes. Suggestions have been Walker bags, wheelchair shawls or something original. Volunteers will bring their sewing machines to Good Shepherd, create their gifts, then distribute them to local nursing homes.
Wheelchair ramps Build a wheelchair ramp to improve a community member's accessibility in to their home. Volunteers will congregate at the individual's home to create a safe and accessible entrance in to their home.
Faith Chest for the Ronald McDonald Home Faith chests are a current ministry at Good Shepherd Church for baptisms. We would like to share this ministry for residents of the Ronald McDonald House. As these children fight and recover from their illnesses, a Faith Chest will provide them a location to store their key possessions while away from their home. Volunteers will build the chests at a GSC member's home and distribute the boxes to the Ronald McDonald Home
Lunch Crew The Operation Inasmuch volunteers need to be supported. These volunteers will congregate at GSC to prepare a box lunch meal and then distribute to the volunteers throughout the community.
Child Care The Operation Inasmuch volunteers need to be supported. These volunteers will provide child care for all of the volunteers. They will also lead the children in a ministry that supports Operation Inasmuch (e.g. drawing pictures for troops).
Slide show/Video of the Day Operation Inasmuch is an amazing volunteer blitz at GSC. This volunteer group will be charged with capturing the images and sounds with Operation Inasmuch and sharing those sights and sounds with GSC and the community through a slide show.
Habitat for Humanity GSC members will volunteer at a Habitat for Humanity job site during Operation Inasmuch
