Small Groups

• Green Team One of the goals of our Strategic Planning is to become more environmentally conscious. The Green Team has been established and has 10 members who are meeting once a month. We are reviewing current practices to determine if there are any actions needed to reduce our ecological impact on the earth. Watch for frequent updates and information from the team as we focus on education and keeping everyone informed as the action plan progresses. If you are someone that also has an interest in the green issues and would like to be part of this process, we would love to have you join us.   This group meets to encourage physical activities, flexibility, nutrition, and rest. During May-October the group meets at HyVee South cafeteria for devotions and breakfast, followed by exercise sessions as determined by the walking, jogging, bicycle, golf and tennis enthusiasts who show up. During November-March the group meets at the church to discuss, plan, and/or demonstrate other activities that encourage a healthier lifestyle, conditioning, strength building, flexibility, etc. Meets Saturdays at 8:00 AM.   This group meets at Loretta Berglund's on the 2nd Tuesday of the month to discuss articles in the Lutheran Woman Today Magazine.

• Stay and Play - Contact Kirstie Poppe 529-1525
  This group gives young kids a place to play and socialize, and gives parents a chance to make new connections as well. Come when it works for you! No advance notice required. Meets Tuesdays at 9:30 AM at church or at the playground if weather permits.

• Milestones Ministry - Contact Rita Howe 285-1507

  Milestones Ministry is a ministry embraced by a growing number of congregations. Milestones bring God's presence into the home and the rituals of daily life into the church. People are needed to coordinate existing and creae new milestones for congregation and home. Any age with any level skill for carpentry, sewing, crafting, organizing, assembly, etc. is greatly needed - see Cynthia McLaren or come to an Education Committee meeting on first Monday evenings.
