Pack the Pews On March 24-26, 2017, we will join other faith communities across Minnesota to Pack the Pews for Minnesota FoodShare. Please bring nonperishable foods to worship and consider making a monetary donation. Food donations will be delivered to our local food shelf.   Did you know hunger is still a problem in Minnesota? 1 in 10 Minnesota families experiences food insecurity. In 2015 there were over 3.2 million food shelf visits in • Minnesota, half of which were made by children and seniors. Last year the March Campaign raised more than 5.2 million • pounds of food and $7.9 million for food shelves around the state. 100% of contributions go towards hunger relief. Ways to Donate The Good Shepherd Church Library will hold a drive for new books from November 1-18, 2016. If you would like to donate to this wonderful ministry, please consider a financial donation or purchasing a new book or dvd for the library. Need ideas for what to purchase? Visit our Amazon.com Wishlist where you’ll find titles for children, teens, adults, bible studies, and large print books to purchase.   Book Bag Drawing Donors to the Good Shepherd Church Library book drive can enter their names into a drawing to win a beautiful book bag sewn from the same fabrics used in the library makeover. Entries are located on the donation table in the library. Please fill out one entry per book or $5 donation. The drawing will be held at the library movie night on November 18. During the month of May, our Social Ministry Team is sponsoring a Book Drive to support Ben Franklin Elementary School‘s summer reading program. The donated books will allow Ben Franklin staff to provide summer reading materials to children who may not otherwise have access to books. See the display in the Narthex.
